Visited By Iran's First Lady, KOWANI Hopes For A Joint Agreement On Education

JAKARTA - Iran's First Lady Jamileh Alamolhoda visited the Indonesian Women's Congress Office (Kowani) in Central Jakarta.

During his visit, Jamileh discussed the role of women in efforts to create a better world.

"Good women can save the world community, starting with creating a good world for their children. They must be able to extinguish the fire of hostility in the family, if this need has been met, then world peace can be achieved," he said when delivering his remarks at the Kowani Office, Tuesday, May 23, confiscated by Antara.

Jamileh said, if women want to help restore peace in the world, then the first thing that must be done is to return to their families first.

"In the family, we can liven up the values we have, the culture we have, because when we have a family, women tend to be able to uphold principles and maintain family integrity," he said.

In addition, Jamileh said that Iran has Goharshad, an empowerment institution that includes many women and annually gives awards to people and groups who excel in various fields.

"Two months away, on Iran's National Family Day, the Goharshad Award will be given to those who have succeeded in producing films showing women carrying changes, from the smallest level, namely households," said Jamileh.

The award was given to encourage directors in Iran to convey to the world that Iranian women have moved progressively in the fields of education, social, culture, and economy.

Chairman of Kowani Giwo Rubianto Wiyogo welcomed the presence of the First Lady of Iran, known for her efforts to fight for the fulfillment of women's rights.

He conveyed that previously Kowani was invited to Iran to attend the Women's Influential Congress.

"When we came there, our perception of Iran turned out to be different. Iranian women turned out to be very advanced in fighting for their country, as well as the country, which has protected women very much," said Giwo.

"We hope that there will be mutual agreements that can be made in Iran or in Indonesia, for exchange and training, especially in the field of education. But it is also possible in other strategic areas," he said.
