Alleged Election Violations By Acting Governor Of DKI Jakarta, PDIP: Change Sub-District Heads To Win RK-Suswono

The chairman of the PDIP DPP for National Legal System Reform, Ronny Talapessy, highlighted the alleged violation committed by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, in the 2024 Pilkada series.

Teguh, who was just inaugurated on October 17, or close to the pilkada stage, is suspected of being involved in efforts to influence the election results.

Ronny said that ahead of voting day, Teguh had rotated positions for dozens of sub-district heads in 12 DKI Jakarta areas. This step is suspected to be aimed at supporting the victory of candidate pair number 1, Ridwan Kamil (RK)-Suswono.

"In fact, the Acting regional head replaced the sub-district head in 12 regions to win the RIDO (RK-Suswono) pair," said Ronny at a press conference at the PDIP DPP Office, Friday, November 29.

Ronny emphasized that the action violated Article 71 of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning Pilkada, which prohibits the change of officials within six months before and after the determination of the pair of candidates for regional head.

In addition, Ronny also suspects that this step cannot be separated from the intervention of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, who is suspected of wanting to maintain political power in DKI Jakarta through his candidate pairs.

"We found a violation of the Acting regional head. We see this as part of Jokowi's efforts to maintain power in Jakarta," he said.

However, based on the results of the PDIP internal vote count, the pair of candidates for the party, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (number 3), won the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

From the internal recapitulation collected by the witnesses, Pramono-Rano won 2,183,577 votes (50.07 percent).

Meanwhile, the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono pair received 1,718,408 votes (39.40 percent), and the Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana pair won 459,283 votes (10.53 percent).

"Jakarta voters can vote according to conscience. The proof is that the Pramono and Rano pair can declare victory," concluded Ronny.
