No Sign Of Violence, Police Suspect That The Corpse In Bukittinggi Died Due To Illness

WEST SUMATERA - The Bukittinggi Police identified the discovery of a male body. The body is thought to have been dead for more than three days.

"Personnel of the Criminal Investigation Unit identification unit have visited the crime scene where a body was found in a house located at Pemuda Street, in front of the Guguk Panjang slaughterhouse, Bukittinggi City. The preliminary results show that there is no element of violence," said the Acting Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bukittinggi Police, AKP Fetrizal in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Tuesday 18 January, as reported by Antara.

He said the victim had the initials VR (52) and was first noticed by the family who were suspicious because the victim had not left the house for several days.

According to him, two witnesses from the victim's family tried to find the whereabouts of the victim, because the door was locked and had iron bars, they finally broke in because they saw the victim's body lying in the hole at the back door of the house.

"According to the testimony of the witness who is a relative of the victim, the victim was found sleeping on his side on a mattress in the middle of the house. Previously, the door of the house had to be broken down because he suspected an unpleasant odor was coming from inside the house," he said.

Police officers examined the crime scene and examined witnesses and then took the body to the hospital for further examination.

"Based on the results of a temporary examination at the TKP, it is suspected that the body died due to diabetes and heart disease, which is estimated to have taken more than three days according to the condition or state of the body after it was found," he said.

He stressed that no elements of violence were found on the victim's body and it was handed over to the family for burial.

"There were no signs of violence against the victim which resulted in the victim's death. The condition of the house before the body was found by the witness was also locked from the inside," he asserted.
