WEST SUMATERA - Agam Police arrested a man with the initials MD (48) suspected of being a shabu-shabu drug dealer. The perpetrator was arrested while staying at the Lake Maninjau tourist area, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Saturday, September 24.

Head of Drug Investigation Unit AKP Aleyxi Aubeydillah said that MD did not fight back when he was arrested by police officers.

MD is a resident of Durian Parabek, Jorong Padang Lua II, Nagari Padang Lua, Banuhampu District, Agam Regency. He was arrested after the police followed up on reports of alleged possession and abuse of narcotics.

During the arrest, the officers arrested the suspect and the illegal items stored in the helmet.

The Agam Police also secured 14 packages of ready-to-distribute shabu-shabu weighing 2.5 grams, a cell phone unit, a Suzuki Satria motorbike without a Motorized Vehicle Number (TNKB) sign, and a helmet.

"Furthermore, the suspect and evidence were brought to the Agam Police Headquarters for further investigation," said AKP Aleyxi, quoted from Antara.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Previously, the Agam Police Narcotics Unit arrested five narcotics suspects at two locations in Lubukbasung, Thursday, September 22.

The five suspects with the initials WU (30) are residents of Lubukbasung District, DZ (46) residents of Tanjungmutiara District, AR (24) residents of Tanjungmutiara District, FA (33) residents of Tanjungmutiara District, and EK (33) residents of Lubukbasung District.

From the suspect's hands, officers managed to secure evidence in the form of two small packages of methamphetamine weighing 0.9 grams, a set of bongs, IDR 150,000 in cash, a mobile phone, a Suzuki Satria FU motorcycle, and others.

"Suspects WU, DZ, AR, and FA were arrested while having a party for shabu-shabu with four friends in a house in Padang Tagak, Jorong Batu Hampar, Nagari Manggopoh, Lubukbasung District, Thursday (22 September) at around 18.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the suspect EK is secured at home in Padang Tagak, Jorong Batu Hampar, Nagari Manggopoh, Lubukbasung District," he said.
