JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 59,576 specimens were examined with the result of 1,904 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 6,419,394 people and active cases fell by 1,193 to 22,310 cases", said Task Force data, Friday, September 23.

Today's recovered cases increased by 3,077 cases, bringing the total to 6,239,098 people recovered. Then, 20 positive confirmations died and a total of 157,986 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 712 cases and a total of 1,421,152 cases. Followed by West Java with 335 new cases with a total of 1,177,857 cases. East Java has 207 new cases and a total of 603,943 cases. Then, Banten with 176 new cases and a total of 336,153 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,276 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 944 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 233 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 186 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 108,280,205.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 7.80 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 3,916 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,421,993 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,040,441. people underwent a second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 63,049,617 and the fourth dose was 580,852. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
