JAKARTA - Recently, Hyundai Motor Company with Ioniq 5 won the Guinness World Record event as an electric car that traveled from the highest place.

This record was tried by the Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) assisted by the Indian Evo team with the mainstay Ioniq 5 electric car. The crossover set an extraordinary record by traveling with a change in altitude of up to 5,802 m.

HMIL Managing Director, Unsoo Kim said this achievement proves that the EV from Hyundai has extraordinary greatness in various conditions as well as breaking boundaries in the mobility of electric vehicles.

This achievement is proof of Hyundai's firm commitment to innovation, technology excellence, and sustainability. The performance of IONIQ 5 in extreme conditions reflects the greatness of its technique and durability," said Unsoo on the manufacturer's official news page, Friday, December 27.

The journey starts at the highest point a vehicle can pass in India, Umling La in Leh Ladakh, which is located 5,799 m above sea level. Then, the trip ends in Kuttanad, Kerala, which is located three meters below sea level.

This achievement was achieved over 14 days which can cover a distance of more than 4,900 km by overcoming various challenging terrains and extreme climate conditions.

On the way to get the record, Hyundai Ioniq 5 managed to travel smoothly through various terrains ranging from cold temperatures, steep Himalayan mountain routes, to humid coastal areas of Kerala.

This car is built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform which is sophisticatedly designed as well as accommodating sophisticated mobility needs.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equipped with a large capacity battery of up to 72.6 kWh which has extraordinary distance, cutting-edge technology, and has the potential to meet daily mobility needs.
