"Since being named on the wanted list, the KPK has practically been reluctant for 9 months to arrest the former legislative candidate," said ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana in a written statement to journalists quoted on Monday, November 2.

He considered that the task force tasked with finding Harun should imitate another team that had just arrested Hiendra Sunjoto, the Director of PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal (MIT). The success of this team, said Kurnia, deserves to be appreciated and should be used as an example for other teams.

Furthermore, in order to speed up the arrest of Harun Masiku, this anti-corruption activist suggested that the task force in charge of this case be evaluated. Even if necessary, this team should just be disbanded.

"As an alternative, maybe the team that succeeded in arresting Nurhadi, Rezky, Hiendra could be empowered to immediately arrest Harun Masiku," he said.

It is known that the investigative task force team in charge of bribery and gratuity cases ensnared former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Nurhadi and his son-in-law, Rezky Herbiyono, is chaired by a senior KPK investigator, Novel Baswedan. Returning to Kurnia's statement, he said, if the KPK did not want to evaluate the team that was looking for Harun, then it should be suspected that this anti-graft agency was involved in protecting the fugitive.

"If there is no evaluation of the team looking for Harun Masiku, it is strongly suspected that there are several parties within the KPK who want to protect the fugitive," he said.

Responding to the suggestion, Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said that his agency had indeed carried out an evaluation of the team that was looking for Harun Masiku.

"The task force responsible for resolving the case in question has been evaluated to make it more optimal in the search for the DPO in question (Harun Masiku, red)," Ali told reporters.

However, in his statement, Ali did not explain the results of the evaluation. However, he ensured that the search process would continue and that the KPK investigating task force in charge of the case would continue to be responsible for resolving the case in question.
