Anies Joke Asked About The DKI Gubernatorial Election: Wait For Gus Imin's Istikharah First

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan was asked about the opportunity for him to run again as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada. Responding to this, Anies even joked.

Initially, Anies admitted that he still wanted to take a break and had not thought about further steps in politics, including his candidacy as regional head.

"Everything that concerns the next step, give a short break. Break it up, arrange it first, close the book," said Anies after the disbandment of the AMIN national team at his residence, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 30.

Hearing this, Muhaimin Iskandar who was beside him felt provoked to continue the questions previously asked by the media crew.

Cak Imin immediately "shooted" by asking when Anies would announce his future political steps.

"What month is the announcement?" said Cak Imin greeted with laughter.

Anies also answered Cak Imin's question jokingly. The former governor of DKI Jakarta asked Cak Imin to pray istikharah so that he could get instructions.

"Usually Gus Imin is determined. We are waiting for Gus Imin's istikharah first," Anies replied with a laugh.

Previously, the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that his party did not rule out Anies Baswedan again in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"Yes, the probability in that direction is still there, we need a study," said Surya when met at the DPP office of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), South Jakarta, Saturday, April 27.

However, continued Paloh, NasDem internally is still working on other names that will be nominated in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"We will see about the DKI Pilkada later, don't just talk about it first," said Surya Paloh.
