Bali's 10th WWF, The Indonesian Navy Deploys 7 Warships And 1,060 Soldiers

The Indonesian Navy (AL) has prepared seven Indonesian Warships (KRI) to participate in the success of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.

The seven warships are KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata-331, KRI Ahmad Yani-351, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, KRI Layang-635, KRI Tongkol-813, KRI Marlin-877, and KRI dr. Soeharso-990.

"Then there are also two helicopters, seariders, and LCVP (landing aircraft vehicles/amphibious landers)," said Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral TNI I Made Wira Hady Arsanta when contacted, Monday, April 29, confiscated by Antara.

Wira explained that the seven were two frigates, one corvette, one hospital aid ship (BRS), and three fast patrol boats.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Navy has also prepared a total of 1,060 soldiers to oversee the entire series of WWF events in Bali.

When contacted separately, the Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Nugraha Gumilar explained that there were more than 12,000 TNI soldiers from three dimensions who were prepared to assist not only security, but also escorting state guests, as well as anticipating various possible natural disasters during the event.

He explained that the soldiers would be on standby in Bali at least a week before the event took place, there were even a number of soldiers who started leaving for Bali on Monday and Tuesday, April 30.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official website explained that the World Water Forum is a world-scale meeting that focuses mainly on sustainable water security and governance. The forum involves, among others, governments of various countries, international institutions, political leaders, academics, businessmen, and civil society organizations.

WWF takes place every three years since the first meeting was held in Marrakesh, Morocco, in 1997. Indonesia at the World Water Forum 10 acts as the host as stipulated in the World Water Council (WWC) general assembly in Dakar, Senegal, in 2022.

The 10th WWF in Bali will involve representatives from 172 countries, and consist of 166 meetings consisting of various levels.

For the 10th WWF, Indonesia has the theme 'Water for Shared Prosperity'.
