JAKARTA - The East Jakarta (Jaktim) Metro Police destroyed 92.9 kilograms of evidence of narcotics, psychotropics, and illegal drugs (drugs) from the disclosure of cases from January to June 2022.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Pol Budi Sartono explained that the evidence included 29.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 63.3 kilograms of marijuana, and 30,736 pills of tramadol.

Five suspects who were arrested were also presented in the destruction of the drugs.

"The disclosure of methamphetamine in Matraman is the disclosure of the Middle East network through Aceh," said Budi.

Budi added that his party was still investigating who was behind the shipment of meth from the Middle East network.

"It's still being investigated, what is certain is that the person concerned received an order to take it. We're exploring whether it's from inside the prison (correctional institution) or abroad," said Budi.

Furthermore, Budi said that the disclosure of the marijuana case came from the Medan-Jakarta network which was arrested on March 4, 2022, in the Petamburan and Grogol areas.

Regarding the destruction of tramadol, said Budi, the illegal drugs were often used by teenagers before fighting in East Jakarta.

Therefore, the East Jakarta Police are aggressively conducting raids on tramadol, which is a sedative and is classified as a psychotropic drug from January to May 2022.

"These drugs (tramadol) are often used by teenagers during fights in East Jakarta," said Budi.
