World Tourism Destinations Trigger Drug Circulation, Denpasar City Government And BNN Arrange Prevention Programs

DENPASAR - The Denpasar City Government is committed to eradicating drug abuse and trafficking in its territory. Currently establishing synergy with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

This synergy was realized by signing the Commitment to the Prevention of the Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN). The Mayor of Denpasar Jaya Negara said that the effort was to realize Denpasar Shine (Clean Drugs).

“The implementation of prevention through socialization and education must take precedence over repressive measures. Hopefully, in the future, the Denpasar Shine (Drug Clean) program can be realized", said Jaya Negara in Denpasar, Tuesday, April 12, quoted from Antara.

He said the Denpasar City Government was ready to fully support the Central BNN, Provincial BNN, and Denpasar City BNN programs.

Meanwhile, the Head of BNN Denpasar, AKBP I Ketut Adnyana Putera, explained that BNN is here to protect and serve the community, especially in Denpasar from narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking.

He said Desa Bersinar and P4GN's efforts in Denpasar were extraordinary because from a program perspective it was in line with the program owned by BNN.

"Denpasar City as a leading tourist destination in Indonesia and even in the world, especially with the start of tourism, can certainly increase the potential for drug abuse. Therefore, we are together with the Denpasar City Government, in protecting and serving the community, especially from the aspect of prevention and then community empowerment and rehabilitation", he said.

Furthermore, Adnyana Putera said BNN has a P4GN program using three approaches, namely "hard power, soft power, and smart". This is by the vision and mission of Denpasar City, which is based on the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (we are brothers) in protecting the community and preparing a strong and drug-free young generation.

"All of this requires the synergy of all parties to make the program a success", he said.
