Bangun said that the complete COVID-19 vaccination coverage for children was highest in East Belitung with 95.75 percent of the total 11,501 children aged six to 11 years having received the first and second doses of vaccination.

"The lowest is in Central Bangka, (coverage) is 69.18 percent of the 21.400 children," he said.

He said that the first dose of vaccination had been carried out on 141.713 children or 97.60 percent of the vaccination target for the group of children aged six to 11 years in Bangka Belitung.

Children aged six to 11 years who had received the first dose of vaccination were scattered in Bangka (30.817), Belitung (16.929), West Bangka (20.821), Central Bangka (18.687), South Bangka (20.750), East Belitung (12.395) and Pangkalpinang (21.314).

Vaccination coverage for children aged six to 11 years was highest in East Belitung (107.77 percent) and the lowest in Central Bangka (87.32 percent).

The Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands is targeting COVID-19 vaccination for children aged six to 11 years to be completed 100 percent before Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"We are optimistic that this 100 percent target will be achieved, especially with the government's policy requiring Lebaran travelers to have a second vaccination for children and a booster vaccination for adults," he said.
