Sad News From South Sumatra, Deputy Governor For The Period 2008-2013 Eddy Yusuf Dies

JAKARTA - Dark skies blanketed South Sumatra. One of his best sons, Eddy Yusuf, who was the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra for the 2008-2018 period, died at the age of 66, at around 08.30 a.m. local time.

The news of the death of Eddy Yusuf was confirmed by the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, when it was confirmed after the inauguration of the Kodam II/SWJ building in Palembang.

"Yes, Innalillahi wainnailaihi rajiun, I offer my deepest condolences for the passing of our senior, Mr. Eddy Yusuf," said Herman Deru, Tuesday, March 8, quoted from Antara.

"For me, he is a good person, known to be friendly and does not distinguish between strata in communication. On behalf of myself and the Provincial Government of South Sumatra, I pray that the deceased will get the best place in the sight of Allah SWT and the bereaved family will be given fortitude," he added.

Eddy Yusuf, who is also the former Regent of OKU for the 2003-2008 period, reportedly fell unconscious and was rushed to the Dr. Ibnu Sutowo Baturaja district general hospital, OKU Regency for treatment.

OKU District Secretary Achmad Tarmizi said that based on information from the family of the deceased, he was treated at the hospital because his stomach ulcer recurred Monday night, then on Tuesday morning received news of his death.

The deceased's body was taken to a funeral home in Alang-Alang Lebar District, Palembang and then buried by the family there.

"Yes, the body was brought to Palembang for burial by the family. After the honor ceremony led by the Regent was completed at 11.30 a.m, the deceased departed, he is still on his way," he said.
