CIANJUR - In less than 24 hours the joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team managed to find a tourist from Cianjur Regency, West Java, Andi Suherman (27). Andi drowned on Monday, November 8 while traveling with his family on Karanghawu Beach, Sukabumi Regency.
"The victim's body was found not far from the scene today at around 08.45 a.m. and the joint SAR team has evacuated to the Palabuhanratu Hospital," said Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Misson Coordinator (SMC) for this SAR operation, Hendra Sudirman, to reporters in Sukabumi, Antara.
Information gathered from SAR personnel, on the first day of the search for missing victims drowned on the beach in the Cisolok Village/Sub-district, the joint SAR team was divided into two search teams, the first team conducting a search on the sea surface around the incident location.
Then the second team, tasked with conducting a search on land by combing the shoreline in anticipation of the victim's body being carried away by waves or ocean currents to land.

Not long after the two teams were dispatched to search for victims of the marine accident in this SAR operation, the team that was conducting a search in the middle of the sea using a rubber boat saw signs of the victim's presence not far from the location of the drowning victim.
With this information, the SAR team immediately went to the location point and saw the victim's body floating above sea level. After confirming that the body was Andi Suherman according to his characteristics, the officers immediately evacuated the victim's body to be taken to the Palabuhanratu Hospital.
"The victim was found at a radius of 0.3 NM from the scene, the success of this SAR operation is thanks to the cooperation of the joint SAR team who have given up their thoughts, energy, and time for the sake of humanity," added Hendra.
After the procession was carried out and it was confirmed that the Cianjur tourist's death was purely an accident, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial.
