Teza Sumendra Appears Soulful In Showcase For EP 'Midnight Motion'

JAKARTA - Teza Sumendra held a showcase attended by media crews in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta tonight, Thursday, May 16.

VOI had the opportunity to hear first four new songs from the 'Midnight Motion' before it was officially released on various platforms. The 36-year-old singer appeared complete with an accompanying band and background singer.

Showcase, which is held in a room that is not too big, features the distinctive sound color of Teza Sumendra and a musical arrangement full of changing rhythms.

One thing that was so felt when he saw Teza Sumendra's performance in person, he had a black soul in his music.

Meanwhile, the 'Midnight Motion' consists of six songs, of which the four new songs presented are Lights Off, I Do Know, Daytime Alibi, and On It. While the other two songs, "The Intro(vert)" and Got Supply, were previously released.

'Midnight Motion' became Teza Sumendra's second album, after his self-titled debut album in 2015. That way, it took him nine years to launch a new album.

"I'm lazy, I like to procrastinate. Maybe my creative process and other people are different, so there are songs that were collected first until finally I thought I could release this time, yes, it's too late in the folder," said Teza Sumendra.

The songs on the 'Moonlight Motion' are made around midnight until dawn. These moments reflect on all emotions, atmospheres, and nuances that bring different feelings when we talk about similar events that occur during the day.
