New Luxury SUV From China Comes With Six Similar Seats On Planes And Kitchens

JAKARTA - A startup car manufacturer from China named Polestones Automobile (not Polestar which also belongs to China) has just revealed its first model named Polestones 01.

The name and design seems to be inspired by other brand cars that already exist because Chinese car manufacturers are known to like to emulate. Well, Polestones 01 looks very similar to the new Land Rover Defender and Lexus GX with box designs. Interestingly, according to Carbuzz's report, August 30, the car design came from the Shanghai Pininfarina Team. It's a shame that Pininfarina was able to make beautiful cars, so why should it be too much 'borrowing designs' from other manufacturers?

The interior Polestones 01 is remarkable. Polestones offers a practical seven-seat configuration or a more luxurious six-seat layout with an airplane-style recliner chair in the second row. Back passengers can lean, relax, and watch movies on the screen mounted on the roof. There is even a mirror camera to ensure drivers can still see the back of the car even though the screen is lowered. Front and rear seats are equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage if they choose a six-seat layout. There is a large touch screen installed on the dashboard, which controls the hidden air ventilation (such as Tesla). Air filtering systems are also included and can remove negative ions.

Under the engine hood, Polestones 01 uses a 1.5 liter cylindrical four-cylindrical engine as part of a "renewable power generation system." This machine does not move wheels, but acts as a generator for the CATL battery pack.

The system with these two motors generates 470 dk of power, and Polestones claims this car can travel as far as 235 kilometers with just electric power. Once the gasoline engine is active to extend the range, this car can cover up to 1,115 kilometers. These figures were reached in the Chinese Light Vehicle Test (CLTC), which usually gives a higher range than the EPA test in the United States.

But the coolest part of this car is the kitchen in the trunk. The backdoor has a "restaurant system" with induction stoves, water dispensers, storage areas, and workplaces.

To improve the experience of camping outdoors, there is also a 270-degree car tent which only takes five minutes to install. If you choose a seven-seat model, the second and third rows can even be folded to load a king-size bed.

The price of Polestones 01 if converted starts from IDR 737 million for the seven-seat version and IDR 757 million for the six-seat version.
