JAKARTA - More and more running events are popping up every day. Most recently, the Justisia Half Marathon was successfully held in Jakarta on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
Justisia Half Marthon was initiated by a collaboration between companies in the wellness sector, 20FIT Group, and the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (ILUNI FHUI).
More than 3,500 participants, ranging from students, private employees, BUMN employees, to art workers and public figures, participated in this event.
This event was held in celebration of a century of legal education in Indonesia which received full support from the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) which succeeded in bringing together thousands of runners from different backgrounds.
This running event was held precisely at the MPR RI complex as a starting and finishing location, which aims to provide opportunities for participants to feel the running atmosphere of the parliament building, where the aspirations of the people and democracy are realized. Not only is it just a sporting event, but it is also a historic moment that reinforces the close relationship between the world of education, legislature, and society.
"We want to show that the MPR is an open institution, not as close as possible assumptions in the community. Through this event, we hope that the public can feel closer to the institutions in charge of voicing their aspirations," said Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno, in an official statement received by VOI, on Monday, November 18, 2024.
