Kaka Boss Film Review: Arie Kriting's Anxiety Is Leaded In A Mobile Comedy

JAKARTA - Arie Kriting presents her latest film, Kaka Boss, which is showing in theaters. Produced by Imaginari, this film is his latest work after directing a ghost artist who is streaming.

It's no new secret that Arie Kriting wants to present Eastern Indonesia in a different portrait. In his line of players, this film stars Godfred Orideod, Glory Hillary, Mamat Alkatiri, Nowela Mikhelia, Ernest Prakasa, and Abdur Arsyad.

Kaka Boss tells the story of Ferdinand Omakare (Godfred Orindeod), a former thug who wants to make his son Angel (Glory Hillary) proud. Ferdinand is known as a real person and is very feared in his environment. This indirectly makes Angel embarrassed to have a thug's father.

One day, his wife, Martha (Putri Nere) advises Ferdinand to look for another job. Ferdinand remembered that when he was a child he was so happy to sing that he decided to become a singer.

Ferdinand contacted Alan (Ernest Prakasa), a hit producer who once owed him. Alan, who initially doubted, finally tried to accept Ferdinand's request to orbit him as a singer, Alan was not alone, because he was assisted by Nowela (Nowela Mikhelia) and Teddy (Teddy Adhitya).

It turned out that orbiting a singer was not as easy as releasing a song after Alan realized Ferdinand's voice was so bad. On the other hand, Ferdinand is determined to release a single before Angel's school event is held.

Kaka Boss has a father and son drama with a comedy that is the foundation. Ferdinand's action whenever faced the outside world is inversely proportional to when interacting with Angel.

Thanks to the comedy bit arrangement, the moments in this film are memorable. In addition, the existence of supporting characters such as Abdur Arsyad, Mamat Alkatiri, and Ge Pamungkas helped the story run smoothly.

Mikhelia, Chun and Teddy Adhitya who act as themselves also help on the music and visual side. Highlights of scenes that emphasize the expressions of the players are also interesting, especially when focusing on Ferdinand's plot who wants to be a singer.

Initially, this film felt stiff in telling stories but slowly the narrative began to run well. Godfred's acting as a father also needs to be highlighted considering that he has never received an acting portion with various emotions like this.

The story that focuses on the relationship between father and son is also interesting, because this relationship is rarely the main plot in family films. As a result, Kaka Boss became the difference between family films that were released some time ago.
