Never Campaigned, Komeng Actually Won The Most Votes In Quick Count

Comedian Komeng is known to have run for the Regional Representative Council (DPD) in West Java. However, his name became a conversation after his photo on the ballot was considered different from the others. Seeing this, Komeng admitted that he had no intention of the photo, he admitted that it was not part of marketing. He even explained that so far he had never campaigned. "Actually, I just want to be different, I don't mean any strategy. People say, "Wow, this is a marketing strategy, I don't understand like that. I don't understand the campaign, so I've never campaigned," said Komeng in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, Friday, 16 February. This 53-year-old comedian only wants to focus on the vision and mission that he has compiled related to increasing arts and culture in Indonesia, especially in the West Java region. "Try all of you if I orate, do you believe it? That's right. That's why I don't have anything, I don't understand anything, just bring the vision and mission to improve art and culture," he explained. Although he did not carry out the campaign, the name Komeng got the most votes compared to other DPD candidates. Komeng himself admitted that he did not have the ambition to be elected because what was important for him was the vision and mission related to cultural arts.

"I really have no ambition, I'm normal. That's why I want to fight earlier (medical days and cultural arts). I've already entered, thank God, I didn't come either, thank God, I'm busy filming," he explained. It is known that the number of votes from the people of West Java who voted for Komeng reached 8.51% of the votes or 315,031 votes while calculating the speed of temporary votes.
