Margot Robbie Was Told By Oppenheimer Producer To Change Barbie Release Date

JAKARTA - Behind the success of the Barbenheimber (Barbie - Oppenheimer) phenomenon, it turns out that there are unexpected facts. Margot Robbie revealed that she had been asked to change the release date of the Barbie film.

In the Actors on Actors session, Margot Robbie as the main character and producer of the Barbie film was met with Oppenheimer actor Cillian Murphy.

Robbie explained that she had been contacted by one of the Oppenheimer producers and was asked to change the release date so that it would not be the same as Oppenheimer. It is known that Robbie and the producer have worked together in the film The Suicide Squad.

"And he said, 'I think you guys should move the date' and I replied 'We didn't move the date.'" he said.

Robbie also challenged Chuck Roven to compete on the big screen and insisted they would not change the release date.

"If you're afraid of dealing with us, so you should change the date! And he replied 'We're not moving dates. I think it's better for you to move," Robbie said, imitating Roven's words.

"And I replied 'We're not moving!' he said.

Oppenheimer is announced to be released on July 21, 2023 by Universal to Warner Bros. then put a similar date for Barbie. This competition was also thought after Nolan left Warner Bros. and made his latest film at Universal.

Nolan and Warner Bros. are in conflict after the release of Tenet during the pandemic where Nolan insisted on releasing his film theatrically.

Margot Robbie explained that the release of Barbie and Oppenheimer is a unique couple that makes people enthusiastic about going to the cinema.

"This is the perfect combination... And obviously the world agrees. Thank God. The fact that people go and think oh watching Oppenheimer first, then Barbie," said Robbie.
