Director Leaks 'Squid Game' Continues To Season Two

JAKARTA - Director Hwang Dong Hyuk mentioned the possibility of a continuation of the story of the Squid Game series. Through an interview with the Associated Press, Hwang Dong Hyuk felt that there was a lot of love that the public gave to Squid Game.

“There is a lot of demand and desire and love for season two (Squid Game). It felt like we had no choice. The next season is in my head right now,” said Hwang Dong Hyuk on Monday, November 8.

Considering his first story made in 10 years, Hwang Dong Hyuk didn't want to be rash in sharing his story.

"It's too soon to say when (Squid Game) will be released but I can promise this. The main character, Gi Hun, will return to make something for the world,” explained Hwang Dong Hyuk.

Previously, Hwang Dong Hyuk always answered that he had no plans for the continuation of the Squid Game series. For the first time that answer changed with the popularity of the series.

Squid Game is a series that tells the story of Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) and a group of people who enter the game to win 456 million won.

Since its first release, Squid Game has been in the top 10 of Netflix's Top 10 for weeks. Netflix also stated that the series has seen 111 million views and is the largest number of releases.
