JAKARTA - PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL) strengthens the national logistics ecosystem by presenting technology-based solutions to increase the efficiency and smooth flow of goods at Tanjung Perak Port and other ports in Indonesia.
"As part of the logistics ecosystem, we are committed to presenting innovative technological-based solutions to facilitate the flow of goods at the port," said Director of Commercial and Engineering of SPSL Ruri I. Rachmaputri in a discussion held by the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (DPW ALFI/ILFA) East Java at the Surabaya Container Terminal Office as stated in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 5.
Even so, Ruri emphasized the importance of collaboration between all stakeholders in order to create an integrated, safe, efficient, and competitive logistics ecosystem.
"The main key to increasing the efficiency of logistics services is the strong synergy between stakeholders," he said.
In the discussion, various logistical operational challenges became the main concern. Some of the issues discussed include improving the invoicing system, optimizing the application of vertical gross mass (VGM), solutions to congestion to efficiency and safety of container scanners at Tanjung Perak Port.
In addition, the readiness of operational services during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr is also a concern to ensure the smooth flow of goods.
One of the innovations that SPSL is currently developing is the operation of a container scanner based on scanner technology (X-ray).
Furthermore, he revealed that currently the tool has entered the internal commissioning stage at the Surabaya Container Terminal and is waiting for an evaluation from the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency (Bapeten) and the Ministry of Transportation.
"With this tool, container checks can be carried out more quickly, accurately, and transparently so as to support the smooth flow of logistics at the port," he explained.
As one of Pelindo's subholdings in the logistics sector, SPSL is committed to increasing transparency and efficiency of port services.
The application of the X-ray-based container scanner technology is expected to accelerate the inspection process, strengthen security and improve the competitiveness of national logistics services in the global arena.
"This modernization is a strategic step in encouraging port operational efficiency and strengthening Indonesia's role in the global supply chain," added Ruri.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Tanjung Perak Customs Office, Dwiyanto Wahyudi, welcomed the initiative.
He explained that the government's container scanner has been regulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) 109 of 2020, which requires temporary hoarding of containers to provide container scanner facilities.
"We appreciate SPSL's steps to accelerate the implementation of this scanner tool. We will continue to support this initiative so that it can be optimized immediately," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the East Java ALFI/ILFA DPW Sebastian Wibisono emphasized his support for the use of the scanner.
