JAKARTA - The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak has had a tremendous impact on the domestic economy. Not only affects the economy of individuals, households, micro, small, medium and large companies, it even affects the country's economy on a local, national, and even global scale.

This impact was also felt by PT Martina Berto Tbk. One of the business units of the Martha Tilaar Group experienced a disruption in business activities so that it was forced to make layoffs, optimize assets, and even decrease production and company revenues. However, this did not dampen the company's consistency in sharing in the midst of a pandemic.

Despite being affected by COVID-19 and having to take the necessary steps in order to survive in the midst of the pandemic, PT Martina Berto Tbk is grateful that the company has not fallen and is still optimistic about getting up, and continues to be committed to sharing with others and helping the government and society in overcoming COVID -19.

This is manifested in the provision of donations and various other social activities. Various activities and programs aimed at easing the burden on people affected by the pandemic have been implemented since the last 2 years, including internally, the issuer with the stock code MBTO provided assistance in the form of "Healthy Packages for Employees" who were exposed to COVID-19.

The assistance package, which has been given since June 2021, is focused on employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 and must quarantine, both at the hospital and at home. The health package consists of medicines such as paracetamol and eucalyptus oil, herbal drinks, milk, instant food, and other family needs.

Externally, to help ease the burden on doctors and health workers to stay healthy, maintain immunity so they can carry out their duties properly, and help speed up the recovery of isoman patients being treated at the Wisma Haji Emergency Hospital (RSDC), the company handed over assistance in the form of 2.000 boxes of Berto Imunku.

The assistance was handed over to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, represented by Mukti E. Rahadian as Coordinator for Strategic Environmental Policy Analysis Center for Health Determinant Analysis of the Ministry of Health and the person in charge of philanthropic logistics at the Wisma Haji RSDC on Friday, July 30.

On this occasion, the Head of the Empirical Sub-Directorate of the Yankestra Directorate of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Hadi Siswoyo said that his party really appreciates the good intentions of PT Martina Berto Tbk.

"Many social souls, including the private sector, have played a role, helping the government which has spent so much money and efforts to tackle COVID-19. We don't forget to thank GP Jamu for facilitating all our needs for herbal medicine so that it can be echoed in companies which produce herbal medicine", said Hadi, in a written statement received, Tuesday, August 10.

In addition, to help deal with COVID-19, PT Martina Berto Tbk also provided assistance to orphanages, foundations, as well as social and community institutions affected by COVID-19, including the Kasih Harapan Foundation (Orphanage), Samadi Foundation (Place Independent Isolation), Nairul Umroh Orphanage (Orphanage Dormitory), Fajar Baru Orphanage, Niqi Foundation, and in the near future will also hand over aid to the Riyadhul Yatama and Dhuafa Foundation.
