JAKARTA - La Liga president Javier Tebas has revealed that he reported Manchester City to the European Commission (EU Main Executive Agency) for allegedly manipulating their balance sheet.
Speaking at a press conference at the Financial Times Business of Football on Thursday, February 27, 2025, local time, Tebas said he had filed a complaint in 2023 and is currently under investigation.
The Premier League club declined to comment on the matter although a source told ESPN that they were denying the claims.
A spokesman for the European Commission confirmed that La Liga's complaint had been filed, adding that they could not comment on the ongoing assessment.
"Machester City owns many companies in their group outside the City Football Group structure, an additional company where they put their expenses," he said.
