Former Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah Gets OTT KPK Gratification Cases Immediately Tried

BENGKULU - Mantan Gubernur Bengkulu Rohidin Mersyah yang telah ditetapkan tersangka dalam operasi tangkap tangan (OTT) Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) terkait dugaan pemerasan dan gratifikasi lingkungan Pemerintah Provinsi Bengkulu segera menjalani persidangan.

Rohidin has been detained since being caught by the KPK OTT on November 24, 2024. It is planned that the trial will be held at the Bengkulu Class 1 A Industrial Relations District Court.

"For the scenario, the trial will be transferred to the Rupat River Court because there are considerations for the safety and smooth running of other trials at the Corruption Court. We are also anticipating the possibility of mass action," said Bengkulu District Court for Industrial Relations Agus Hamza in Bengkulu City, Friday, February 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

The two suspects who were also caught by OTT with Rohidin, namely the Bengkulu Regional Secretary (Sekda) Isnan Fajri (IF), and the Bengkulu Governor Evrianshah (EV) the Anca sect will also undergo trial in the same case.

In the OTT that arrested the three suspects, the KPK secured evidence of Rp7 billion in cash, which was allegedly used for the purpose of carrying out the 2024 regional head election (Pilkada).

Agus emphasized that in the implementation of the trial, the court will carry out strict security during the trial.

"Anyone who wants to attend the trial must show an identity. If they don't bring their identity card (KTP), they won't be allowed in," he said.

Meanwhile, related to the exact schedule, the implementation of Rohidin Mersyah's inaugural trial is still in coordination between the Corruption Court, the KPK, and the security forces.

Because, when the KPK's detention period runs out, the public's attention is currently on the proceedings that will determine the legal fate of the former Bengkulu Governor and others.
