JAKARTA - The government said that the 2024 National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) had printed a total transaction of IDR 31.2 trillion, dominated by sales of local products.
This year, of the total transactions of IDR 31.2 trillion, the average expenditure spending per person reached IDR 318,000.
"In an effort to create a strong market for domestic products, the Government continues to encourage promotion and campaign so that people prefer local products. When the market for local products has been formed, supply will follow automatically. This step can also help reduce dependence on imported products," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, December 29.
The total achievement of Harbolnas 2024 transactions increased by around 21.4 percent (yoy) compared to the total transactions in 2023 which scored IDR 25.7 trillion.
Local products are also able to dominate overall sales with a portion of 52 percent and with a transaction value of Rp. 16.1 trillion or an increase of about 31 percent (yoy).
Significant growth in the contribution of local products is a positive indicator of Harbolnas' potential future.
This also reflects the increased consumer awareness of continuing to support domestic products through the trading-el (e-commerce) platform.
Airlangga hopes that the Harbolnas Program is expected to continue to show a role in encouraging people's purchasing power while supporting local products in order to be able to compete in the domestic and international markets.
With the tagline #Use ProductSendiri, fashion sports and accessories, personal care, and food and drinks into three categories of products that dominate sales in Harbolnas 2024 both overall and for local products.
Buyers at this program also make direct shopping that provides online product reviews the most popular feature and 50 percent of buyers make purchases through affiliate links shared on social media.
Furthermore, Airlangga said, in this year's Harbolnas event, there were 407 participating participants ranging from merchants, online retailers, to local market service providers.
This year's Harbolnas event is also the highest achievement for newly onboarding sellers compared to the pre-pandemic period.
The presence of Harbolnas 2024 is not only a celebration of online shopping, but also a real step to support improving the national economy and selling local products.
