JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has conducted feasibility tests or rampchecks on bus transportation used during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays (Nataru). Vehicles that do not pass the rampchek are prohibited from operating during that period.
Plt. Director General of Land Transportation, Ahmad Yani, said that buses that are not roadworthy will be given a special sign in the form of stickers with red cross marks.
"If not like? You can't go. Given a red crossed mark, there is a sticker, so he can't leave," he said during a press conference regarding the implementation of the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year Transportation (Nataru) at the Ministry of Transportation office, Jakarta, Thursday, December 12.
If there are vehicles that do not run, they are still desperate to operate, Ahmad Yani said the Ministry of Transportation would impose sanctions in the form of a ticket.
Ahmad Yani said this step was taken to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods.
"It's not allowed (to operate). We'll get a ticket (if we're desperate), we'll just cage it. It's no longer allowed to pass for safety," he said.
