JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) Zulkifli Hasan revealed that after becoming an autonomous body under the command of the president, Bulog would not only take care of rice but its commodities would be expanded.

For your information, currently Bulog is still under the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and has the task of maintaining stability in rice, corn and soybean prices.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said that in the future Bulog is expected to be able to maintain other commodities. Like Sugar, even Carrots.

"Even retail, the most important thing in my opinion is that Bulog can already take care of rice with corn is extraordinary. If you add another bonus with sugar, I'll see the world champion already," he said after the Limited Coordination Meeting of the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs in Jakarta, Friday, November 29.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas explained that the transformation of Bulog which is currently in the process can make an institution that is getting stronger. Especially in maintaining the supply and stabilization of national food prices.

He also hopes that the institutional transformation in Bulog's body can run immediately to support Indonesia's food self-sufficiency.

"The transformation will be that Bulog will be a very strong institution, he is also a stabilizer as well as a buffer. So other institutions, in the form of other institutions that are strongest. There are only two ways, Perpres or Law. So, including later about the budget, "he explained.

Previously, it was reported that the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) Zulkifli Hasan said that the institutional transformation of Perum Bulog into an automomous body had received the blessing of President Prabowo Subianto.

He emphasized that institutional transformation is important. This is because this step is taken to realize food self-sufficiency in 2027.

"I report the need for Bulog's transformation.
