Minister Of SOEs: The Young Generation Must Have A Ulet Figure, When Failed It's Not Easy To Fall

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the younger generation must quickly adapt to every change and be able to adapt and map out challenges in the future.

This is because currently there are four very big dynamic challenges, namely geopolitical conflicts, geoeconomic conflicts, climate change, and digital disruption.

"Young people must have a tenacity (resilient) figure, when they fail not to fall easily, when they succeed they cannot fly. This process is what we all have to experience," said Erick Thohir while attending the postgraduate XIV Graduation and Bakrie University Bachelor for the Academic Year 2023/2024, which took place at Sasana Kriya, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta.

The XIV visit was also attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region III, Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.S., M.Sc; Chairman of the Bakrie Education Foundation, Ratna Indira Nirwan Bakrie; as well as representatives from Bakrie Group; and the scientific oration delivered by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Red and White Cabinet Erick Thohir.

A total of 882 graduates have successfully completed their study journey from the Masters of Management, Masters of Communication Science Program and the Bachelor of Management Program, Communication Science, Accountance, Political Science, Information System, Informatics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Science and Food Technology.

The Chancellor of Bakrie University, Sofia W. Alisjahbana, stated that the knowledge that has been obtained from campus must be continued and used to help the community in solving problems with increasingly complex challenges in the future.

"Because learning is not just an activity to accept knowledge, it is a continuous process to use knowledge that is owned by being encouraged by sincerity to help and benefit others," he said.

Hundreds of graduates from Bakrie University on this occasion reflect the optimal synergy between academic and extracurricular achievements.

This balance will support each other in fertilizing Professional, Caring, Innovative values that are very central in the formation of characters held by Bakrie University.

Even though he is still 14 years old, Bakrie University has achieved several strategic achievements.

This year, Bakrie University managed to get superior accreditation from BAN-PT, which is the highest quality rating for universities nationally, making it part of the 2 percent best university of around 4,500 universities in Indonesia.

At the international level, based on the ranking of the Times Higher Education (THE), in 2024, Bakrie University will again enter the top 5 PTS ranks in Indonesia and the top 18 universities in Indonesia, based on the ranking of the Impact Ranking Times Higher Education.

Chairman of the Bakrie Education Foundation Ratna Indira Nirwan Bakrie also stated the foundation's high commitment to achieving high quality education.

"Hopefully with a good education, Bakrie University graduates can get a better future and contribute to the achievement of the nation's progress, especially Indonesia Gold 2045," he added.
