JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) supervises the distribution of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Supervision is carried out to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel to the community is well served.

"Services for people who use kerosene can continue to be done well. Even though the kerosene base also provides non-PSO (Public Service Obligation/non-subsidized) LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas)," said Member of the BPH Migas Committee Harya Adityawarman quoted Monday, June 24.

During the visit, it was also found that during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) period, as well as Christmas and New Year (Nataru) yesterday, the distribution of kerosene in West Manggarai was well maintained.

"Both at the end of the year, or when RAFI was served well. There were no obstacles regarding the demand for kerosene," said the man who is often called Didit.

Furthermore, Didit revealed that there was a request for additional subsidized fuel quota for fishermen when he visited the Fishermen's Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) in West Manggarai.

"Earlier we agreed, the head of the fishermen's cooperative will report this (a quota addition) to the Regent. Furthermore, the Regent submitted a proposal to the Head of BPH Migas regarding the addition of diesel fuel for fishermen, as long as it is true for the benefit of fishing for fishermen," he added.

Didit hopes that fishermen can make good use of subsidized fuel, so as to encourage productivity in their work.

"Hopefully (subsidized BBM) can be used properly according to its designation and have a positive impact on fishermen," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Sales Area Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga NTT Zico Wahyudi explained, while accompanying fuel monitoring in West Manggarai to ensure the distribution of subsidized fuel in accordance with the provisions and supervision went well.

"What we are trying to do is how to keep the quota in accordance with the volume set by the Government, through BPH Migas," he hoped.
