Minister Of PKP: Prorakyat Housing Policy Helps People To Have Residential Housing

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) revealed that the prorakyat housing policy helps the people to have housing.

According to Ara, the Ministry of PKP has three functions, namely as operators, regulators and facilitators.

"Our operators can only be 8 percent, with the existing funds from the APBN only 8 percent, but what is not limited as a regulator and facilitator, for example as a regulator, how has the Government-Borrowed Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) policy (PPN DTP) under Rp2 billion is free. This is good for people to build houses and I think it's not only for low-income people (MBR), but also for middle class," said Ara in his statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday 26 December.

In addition, the Obtainment of Land and Building Rights (BPHTB) is also exempted, the cost of Building Approval (PBG) is zero percent so that these regulations are prorakyat.

"If the policy is prorakkyat, it should be cheap, facilitated and accelerated. So the people should be accelerated, accelerated, cheaper in my opinion. That's what we are trying to do, think about taking steps like that," said Ara.

He hopes that a number of housing policies that are prorakyat can also help people's purchasing power.

For information, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait revealed that the Joint Decree (SKB) of three ministers from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of PKP, and the Ministry of Public Works (PU), assisted the small community.

Maruarar said in the SKB, it is possible for low-income people (MBR) to build houses, there is no need to pay for Land and Building Rights Obtainment Customs (BPHTB).

In addition, the government has also extended the incentives for the Government-Borrowed Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) in the housing sector by 2025.

The VAT DTP facility is provided based on the imposition of a maximum tax (DPP) of IDR 2 billion, with the purchase of a house with a maximum selling price of IDR 5 billion. The government provides a 100 percent VAT discount in the January-June 2025 period, and 50 percent for the month of July-December 2025.
