JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that the provision of social assistance (bansos) to food assistance to the community managed to hold the inflation rate at around 2.6 percent.

"Inflation, look at Indonesia's average inflation, only 2.6 percent are far away in almost 10 percent of other countries, that's proof (social assistance effectiveness)," he said while reviewing the price of Bulog rice in modern shopping centers in the Klender area, East Jakarta, Monday, February 12.

"Well, this is what the government tried to protect yesterday, yes, but it is under control, inflation is 2.6 percent, economic growth is still 5.05 (percent), the average world economic growth is 5.03 (percent), so we are above average, this is a blessing. Alhamdulillah, "he said.

Erick said that reflecting on this performance, the government's policy of distributing various assistance and social assistance is also the right way. Even so, he admitted that the policy was not perfect.
