JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that as many as 50,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) had entered the tender ecosystem of the Ministry of SOEs below IDR 15 billion.

Erick said that the data had accumulated since the existence of the policy which had been set from 2020 to 2024.

"It's been almost 5 years. And there have been 50 thousand MSMEs that have entered this ecosystem," Erick said, quoting Antara.

He said that of the 50 thousand MSMEs that are included in the tender ecosystem below Rp. 15 billion, the majority are engaged in the food sector. Even so, Erick did not mention the numbers or nominal of the tenders that had been obtained by MSME actors.

"Alhamdulillah, 50 thousand MSMEs have been collected, maybe 90 percent of which are also food," said Erick.

On that occasion, he requested that all project tenders of the Ministry of SOEs under Rp. 15 billion must take from MSMEs. So far, the tender for SOEs projects in collaboration with MSMEs has been running through the Digital Market for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PADI UMKM) program.

In addition, Erick emphasized that tenders should not be followed by people who still have family ties with companies that apply for projects.

"Tenders in state-owned companies whose value is below Rp. 15 billion must be MSMEs, their families cannot, state-owned managers or their foundations or children and grandchildren," he asserted.

Erick further said that the Ministry of SOEs has many programs to support the growth of MSMEs. He also ensured that the program continued in the era of President Prabowo Subianto.

He emphasized the importance of concrete steps in supporting economic independence and strengthening the MSME sector according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

Erick said that the government has a roadmap that includes a target of three months, one year, up to five years to achieve this goal. This step includes strengthening the foundations of MSMEs through the provision of certification, funding, market access, and various other supports.

With this strategy, the government is committed to ensuring that MSMEs can grow sustainably as well as become an important pillar in national economic development.

"So God willing, we will work concretely to be able to complete the direction of the President (Prabowo Subianto) how we become an independent country and we also ensure that our MSMEs have a clear foundation both from certificates, funding, markets, and others," said Erick.

On that occasion, Ercik also mentioned that 21.2 million businesswives access financing through the program to develop the prosperous family economy (Mekaar) of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) to support community economic empowerment through micro and small businesses.

In the program, ultra-micro businesswives on average receive financing between IDR 1 million to IDR 5 million to support their business development in various productive sectors.
