The Ministry Of PUPR Blak-blakan Puncak Toll Road Hasn't Been A Priority, This Is The Cause

JAKARTA - The construction of toll roads in the Puncak area, Bogor, West Java, has entered the current feasibility study stage.

The plan is for this toll road to be built into 5 sections, with a length of about 50-52 km from Caringin to Cianjur.

This toll road will also be connected to the Bocimi (Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi) toll road.

Even so, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the toll road project was not a priority to be built in 2024.

The reason is, the process of studying the feasibility study or feasibility study of the toll road project has not been completed until now.

"The FS has not been completed. That's called FS, our considerations are not only technical. There are economic and environmental considerations. If the three fulfill it, we will consider it appropriate," said PUPR Ministry Spokesperson Endra S. Atmawidjaja at his office, Jakarta, Friday, February 2.

Endra assessed that the toll road project would not be a priority to start construction this year. Given that there are many alternative roads to Puncak.

One of them is the presence of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road as well as a number of regional roads that have been repaired through the Regional Road Inpres (IJD) Number 3 of 2023.

"So, we know that the peak is part of the protected area, whether there will be a change in the route (search first) and the best route," he added.

He ensured that the toll road project would not be carried out in 2024.

However, he did not rule out the possibility that later the Ministry of PUPR in the new leadership era would continue the project.

"Anyway, not now (in 2024). I don't know when. The new government will be quality, anyway," he added.
