Many Enthusiasts, US Dealer Network Mark Up Prices VW ID.Buzz

JAKARTA - The ID.Buzz model became one of the phenomenal electric vehicles (EVs) that Volkswagen launched in the electrification era. Not only has environmentally friendly driving, this car also carries a retro force inspired by Type 2 or commonly known as Kombi.

Because it has a unique style, this car has the potential to be flooded with enthusiasts, so there is a practice of increasing the price of dealers exceeding the recommended value of manufacturers. This is evidenced by the network of dealers located in the United States (US) region, on the other hand, the ID.Buzz model is also a little late in marketing in the US.

Launching from CarBuzz, Friday, January 3, it shows that as many as 880 units of ID.Buzz sold in Uncle Sam's country, most of them have experienced markups (increases) prices from dealers.

One of the dealer networks located in California called Covina VW offers ID.Buzz at a price of US$102,056 (Rp1,638 billion), an increase drastically with the recommended price of US$72,668 (Rp1,178 billion).

An image uploaded by @spotted_model in the X account, shows that the dealer raised prices to US$25,000 (Rp405.3 million) in an additional markup.

These prices do not include several additional options such as Clear Shield Package, then a pain and fabric protection, anti-stealing labels, as well as additional costs for CarRX which is an application to duplicate vehicle locations as a standard connected service from VW.

However, another network of dealers named Dothan VW in the Dothan area provides discounts of up to 7,500 US dollars (Rp121.6 million) or a drop in price to 55,225 US dollars (Rp895.4 million) from the initial price of the Pro S variant of 62,725 US dollars (Rp1.017 billion).

In Uncle Sam's country, VW ID.Buzz is offered in the Pro S RWD and 1st Edition AWD variants. Speaking of performance, VW ID. Buzz 2025 is offered with a single RWD electric motor with 282 dk and a 4Motion AWD dual-motor that produces 335 dk of power.

For the US market, this flaring van is offered with an electric battery with a capacity of 91 kWh which is claimed to cover a distance of 377 km in the RWD variant and 372 km in the AWD type.
