Despite Being Hired By Jakpro, Residents Of Kampung Bayam Admit That KSB Rental Fees Are Still Expensive

JAKARTA - The residents of Kampung Bayam admitted that the rental rate for Kampung Susun Bayam (KSB) which they finally managed to live in after waiting for years was still quite expensive.

BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo as the manager set the rental fee for Kampung Susun Bayam of IDR 1.7 million per month.

So that residents can pay rent, Jakpro will employ residents of Kampung Bayam with a salary equivalent to the provincial minimum wage (UMP) of DKI Jakarta. However, the rental fee, felt Martin (35), remained high.

"From us, as residents, it's very big, yes, if it's Rp. 1.7 million. But yes, if they are responsible for paying attention to the matter of us farming, in this case, they will give a salary, that's it," Martin told reporters, Friday, March 7.

In fact, Martin wants them to be able to pay the residential rent next to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) at a cheaper price.

"Yes, in our opinion, if we can, yes, we will give it at least, maybe one million (rupiah), yes we can afford it," he said.

On that occasion, Martin also questioned the reason why Jakpro finally provided housing for Kampung Susun Bayam for residents affected by the JIS development eviction after years.

Kampung Susun Bayam was founded since the leadership of Anies Baswedan in 2022. For several years, residents of Kampung Bayam and Jakpro did not agree about the rental rate for the residence.

As a solution, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung decided that the residents of Kampung Bayam would be employed by Jakpro in the JIS area so that they could pay for the rental house of Kampung Susun Bayam.

"We, the residents are very happy, which can finally be given. Why not from the start? Whatever it is, we are talking about, collaborating with us residents, we residents are not foreigners or bad people, right?" said Martin.
