JAKARTA - The Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) revealed that it has succeeded in securing state finances of IDR 67.09 trillion throughout 2023.
The results are the supervisory performance of various aspects such as the National Strategic Project (PS), education, health, and social welfare.
Head of BPKP Muhammad Yusuf Ateh said the contribution was divided into three categories. The first is the efficiency of state spending or savings of IDR 15.56 trillion.
Ateh said the efficiency of spending is money that has not come out, so there is no waste of the state budget.
"Why do we say this is efficiency, the money hasn't come out yet. We want to come out but we prevent it. We haven't come out yet and we managed to save it," he said at a press conference at the BPKP office, Jakarta, Thursday, February 1.
Then, said Ateh, the second contribution came from saving money that had come out. He said the amount reached Rp. 21.90 trillion.
"This is the results of an investigative audit of Rp. 21.90 trillion. If the money has not been released, this one has come out. So we are trying to get the money back into the state treasury," he said.
Third, continued Ateh, comes from optimizing the potential for state or regional revenue, with a total of Rp29.3 trillion.
"This means that we identify potential receipts that can be extracted and optimized from the Non-Tax State Tax and Revenue (PNBP) sector. So the state can get additional revenues of IDR 29.3 trillion," he said.
Ateh also explained that BPKP's supervision is very wide, covering 86 Ministries/Institutions, 542 Regional Governments, and 27,190 villages. In addition, BPKP also oversees 211 PS, 326 other development projects, 114 SOEs including its subsidiaries, and many others.
