JAKARTA - The Industrial Trust Index (IKI) survey for the period September 2023 shows that the textile and clothing industry is two sub-sectors that have contracted.

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) regrets the implementation of the import textile and textile product (TPT) auction which is categorized as State-Owned Goods (BMMN).
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry, Febri Hendri Antoni Arif, said that the BMMN auction in the form of textiles and textile products (TPT) should need to be coordinated with the Ministry of Industry first.
This is to control the flow of TPT products that are not suitable for SNI or originating from illegal imports, so as not to enter the domestic market.
"The Ministry of Industry considers that the right action taken against imported products is the destruction," said Ministry of Industry Spokesperson Febri Hendri Antoni Arif to reporters, Wednesday, October 4.
Febri added, if you look at the variety of TPT products being auctioned, it is necessary to check again whether they are illegal imported goods.
"If it is an illegal imported item, the Ministry of Industry proposes to destroy the goods being auctioned so as not to disturb the domestic market. Moreover, if the SNI is in effect, it is mandatory for these products," he said.
