Allegedly Related To The LPEI Case, KPK Confiscates 3 Vespa Units Worth IDR 1.5 Billion

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated 3 units of Vespa Piagio worth IDR 1.5 billion today. This forced effort is suspected to be related to allegations of corruption in the provision of financing facilities from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI).

KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika said the confiscation began with a search conducted by investigators.

"KPK investigators have searched one of the houses of the former President Director of BUMN in Jakarta," Tessa told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, January 9.

Tessa did not specify who the house was in question. However, a VOI source said the items were found when investigators visited the house of former President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk for the 2019-2023 period.

There are allegations that the suspect found a motorized vehicle was entrusted by the suspect in this case.

Apart from Vespa, investigators also confiscated a Wuling branded car from the house.

"Approximately IDR 350 million," said Tessa.

The confiscated assets are suspected to be related to the flow of funds from the corruption crime, continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Still from the same location, investigators also found electronic evidence and documents. Tessa explained that the items would be analyzed to complete the case files being handled.

As previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the provision of credit facilities from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). The confiscation of money and jewelry has been carried out after investigators searched a number of places in East Kalimantan on July 31, August 2.

The amount of money found by investigators at that time reached Rp4.6 billion; 6 units of vehicles; 13 precious metals; 9 watches; 37 luxury bags; and 100 jewelry. Then investigators also obtained electronic evidence in the form of laptops and hard drives as well as evidence in the form of documents.

In addition, investigators also confiscated dozens of land and building assets. This property is estimated to be worth IDR 200 billion.

The confiscated assets may still increase. This is because investigators found that some of them were still under construction or became collateral.
