Eco City Rempang Problems Will Be Happy Ending, Jokowi: For The Sake Of The Community's Interests Will Be Well Resolved

JAKARTA - The Rempang Eco City problem seems to end in a happy ending. The reason is, President Jokowi ordered all his staff to prioritize the resolution of the Rempang problem to be carried out properly, including prioritizing the interests of the surrounding community.

This was revealed by Jokowi in a limited meeting with a number of his staff at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, September 25 yesterday. Responding to the president's attitude, public policy observer Agus Pambagio said that the problem of Rempang could have an impact on the investment climate in Indonesia. The reason, he said, Indonesia will suffer considerable losses.

"Yes, first of course the loss is, the loss from the investment that is canceled if it doesn't happen, depending on how much. The second loss, which means that production planning and all kinds of things are also lost, the opportunity costs are big," Agus said, in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, September 26.

Not only that, Agus said that what happened in Rempang could set a bad precedent for Indonesia in the eyes of foreign investors.

"If the investment is canceled, then it can be a bad precedent. So if we offer and open our investment, we must be ready. Including no studies on anthropology, then identification of possible conflicts, besides that, it can also be anticipated, so that later the investment process can run smoothly and safely in Rempang," he said.

Agus pun melihat sejauh ini di setiap program pembangunan infrastruktur atau investasi tidak terlihat Studi anthropologinya.

Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, in his statement at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex after a limited cabinet meeting said that President Jokowi in the direction of the first meeting was to resolve the problem. "And continue to prioritize the rights and interests of the surrounding community where the location is held," said the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia. "In addition, the community will also be given an award in the form of land in the area of 500 square meters with a certificate of their rights, as well as building houses with type 45.
