JAKARTA - The Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus has entered Indonesia some time ago. It started with an Indonesian citizen (WNI) who had just arrived in Indonesia from Nigeria on November 27, 2021.

However, in the field, there are also many complaints stating that the PCR reagents provided in Indonesia and circulating in the community cannot detect the Omicron variant. This makes the Indonesian people more panicked by the limited facilities of medical equipment they have.

This situation has made several companies try to provide facilities that can calm people's hearts a little, one of which is DNR which is a subsidiary of PT Zebra Nusantara (ZBRA). DNR provides PCR reagents, namely Genefinder reagents that can detect Omicron variants that are currently infecting more than 90 countries.

DNR received confirmation regarding this from the Genefinder maker Oshang Health Care in Korea a few days ago. In addition to detecting Omicron, Genefinder is also able to detect all variants that have become Variants of Concern defined by WHO such as Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, and Lambda.

"It's been 2 years since the COVID-19 pandemic has been around the world and the hope is that it will reduce public anxiety and the pandemic will end soon. That is the basis of this collaboration, which is to support the government in overcoming the pandemic and also help the community to deal with this situation well", said Paulus Lo, Director of Zebra Nusantara in a written statement, Thursday, December 23.
