DPR Asks BNN To Strengthen Rehabilitation Of Drug Addicts

JAKARTA - Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives asked the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to strengthen rehabilitation and recovery efforts for drug addicts.

This was said by the Head of BNN, Suyudi Ario Seto after a closed meeting with Commission I of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, September 4.

"From the DPR (asked) that the BNN of the Republic of Indonesia not only prioritize the aspect of law enforcement, but how to also pay attention to the rehabilitation aspect because we also understand that the use management rate in Indonesia is quite high based on the 2023 BRIN data we got, so we have a commitment in the future to strengthen rehabilitation," said Suyudi Ario Seto.

Suyudi hopes that with the recovery efforts that BNN will carry out, the younger generation of Indonesia will be better off and the number of drug abusers can far decrease.

"So that Indonesia's gold 2045 can be realized with Indonesia's younger generation who are healthier," he said.

Nevertheless, Suyudi denied having formed a special team to help his institution's performance.

"No, there is no special team. Later we are still trying to strengthen what is in our human resources in our BNN," said Suyudi.

Suyudi also denied any information regarding the submission documents for Polri personnel who will undergo Under Operations Control (BKO) at BNN. In the document, there are the names Adjunct Commissioner (AKBP) Malvini Edward Yusticia and AKBP Gogo Galesung.

"Not yet, not yet," he concluded.
