Minister Of State Secretary Considers It Reasonable To Misinterpret Budget Efficiency: This Is The First Time This Has Been Done

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said that the budget efficiency policy was first implemented. Thus, it is natural that many ministries and institutions misinterpret budget efficiency policies.

"Naturally, yes, we are in the process. As is now happening, what is viral is that there are no more KIPs, no more. That's why we want to give (clarification)," Prasetyo told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, February 14.

According to him, there are still many ministries and institutions that have not been able to understand the instructions and intentions of President Prabowo Subianto's instructions. "Indeed, we need it. This is the first time we have carried out this efficiency policy, the spirit of the President," he said.

"Of course, many friends of K/L (ministerial and institutional) are not misinterpretations, no. But understanding is still a bit different, you know," continued Prasetyo.

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto issued instructions to streamline the budget from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) in 2025.

In the aftermath of these instructions, many ministries and institutions have complained about budget shortages and have to cut office operational needs to employee salaries.

Later, on February 11, 2025, the government through the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reconstructed the efficiency of the budget for all ministries and institutions.

The results of the reconstruction for two days from 12-13 February 2025 were reported to the DPR through the relevant commission.
