Will Focus On Large Cases, KPK Era Setyo Budiyanto Will Use PPATK Reports To Audit Results

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto wants many large-scale cases that can be handled in his leadership era. He did not want the handling of corruption cases to only rely on hand arrest operations (OTT).

"We hope that the cases we can do, we will handle are big cases," Setyo told reporters during a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, December 20.

Setyo said there are at least several ways that can be used. Among other things, by utilizing the analysis report (LHA) of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

"Later, by utilizing LH from PPATK, then working with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) then case building. Such hopes can uncover large cases," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Fitroh Rohcahyanto. According to him, big cases will indeed be a priority even though they do not neglect other cases.

"In principle, we must resolve all cases," said the former Director of Prosecution of the KPK.

"But we certainly realize that the human resources at the KPK, especially enforcement, are still relatively few ... Therefore, of course there must be a priority which case must be resolved. However, I am sure that the case that is of public concern must be resolved immediately," continued Fitroh.

Previously reported, the leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board for the period 2024-2029 took the oath of office by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, December 16 or before his visit abroad. This procession is held at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The KPK leadership for the 2024-2029 period was filled by Setyo Budiyanto as the Chair of the KPK and Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, Johanis Tanak and Agus Joko Pramono as his representatives.

In addition, five members of the KPK supervisory board (dewas) have also officially changed. This position was held by Gusrizal, Benny Jozua Mamoto, Chisca Mirawati, Sumpeno and Wisnu Baroto.
