KPU: Banyumas Regent Bacalon Must Have 6.5 Percent Support From The Number Of Previous Election DPTs

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Banyumas Regency, Central Java, reminded that the prospective pairs of regents and deputy regents who will advance in the 2024 Banyumas Pilkada must really pay attention to the terms of support.

"Until now, there have been no individual candidates who have asked or come to the Banyumas Regency KPU," said Banyumas Regency KPU member Sidiq Fathoni, Antara, Sunday, April 5.

Because it is an obligation that must be carried out by the Banyumas Regency KPU to conduct socialization and invite the people of Banyumas, who want to participate in the Pilkada, to run as regents and deputy regents through individual channels.

In addition, he continued, his party will also announce the registration of individual line pairs on May 5-7, while the submission of support by prospective individual pairs will be held on May 8-12, 2024.

"Furthermore, there will be administrative verification, factual verification, and so on," said the Head of the Banyumas Regency KPU Technical Division.

In this regard, he said support is the most important requirement for prospective individual couples.

In this case, he said, the prospective pair of individual candidates must get the support of at least 89,874 people or 6.5 percent of the number of permanent voters (DPT) in the previous election, namely the DPT for the 2024 General Election, which amounted to 1,382,671 people.

According to him, the support came from residents of Banyumas Regency who had an electronic identity card (KTP) and at least had to be spread across 14 sub-districts or 50 percent of sub-districts in Banyumas.

In addition to being proven by an electronic ID card, he continued, this support must be accompanied by a statement letter from residents who support it and then uploaded it through the Nomination Information System (Silon) application which will be prepared by the KPU.

"Although the calculation of the minimum number of individual candidates' support refers to the DPT for the 2024 General Election, the number of voters in the 2024 Banyumas Pilkada DPT will certainly increase," he said.

He said the addition of the DPT included coming from the special voter list (DPK) in the 2024 General Election and the presence of residents who had just had the right to vote, such as being 17 years old during the election or retiring from the TNI/Polri.

"Later, there will be updating of voter data by including residents who entered the DPK yesterday or new voters," said Fathoni.

The 2024 Banyumas Pilkada which will be held on November 27, 2024 will be part of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada which is intended to elect governors and deputy governors as well as regents/mayors and deputy regents/deputy mayors.
