The Mentok Police Chief, Iptu Ogan Arif Teguh Imani, explained that the arrests of the two young men started from information from residents who stated that there were allegations of drug trafficking and abuse, which was followed up with an investigation at the location in question.

"On Sunday we received the information and at around 03.00 WIB the Joint Team of the Mentok Police and the Narcotics Unit of the West Bangka Police in charge of conducting the investigation managed to arrest two perpetrators with the initials RWS (25) Tanjung residents and RE (24) residents of Keranggan, Mentok District", said Ogan Arif.

At first, the team caught the perpetrator with the initials RE and after development, the team managed to catch RWS while he was at his house, which is located in Keranggan.

From the hands of the RWS, the police found 30 packs of evidence ready to be circulated containing 11.5 grams of methamphetamine, one digital scale, and IDR 500,000 in cash.

Based on initial information gathering, the Sector Police suspect that the perpetrators had committed a criminal act of abusing methamphetamine for the past five months.

"Currently, the perpetrators and the evidence are still at the Mentok Police Headquarters for further investigation", he said.
