JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe has officially announced that he will withdraw from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This will be done at the end of this season. "I've always said I will speak to you when the time comes and therefore I would like to announce to all of you that this is my last year at Paris Saint-Germain, I will not renew (my contract) and the adventure will end in a few weeks," Mbappe said via a video message posted on his social media account citing Antara. In the video message, Mbappe revealed that seeking the challenge was the reason he did not renew his contract with PSG. "It's very emotional, difficult and I never thought it would be as hard as this to announce that I would leave my country, but I think I need this, a new challenge after seven years," he continued. Kylian Mbappe confirmed his departure at the end of this season ahead of a possible move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish giant was long linked to the French national team player and even almost joined in 2022 when his contract was running out, but he changed his mind and renewed his contract at PSG. In that video message, the 25-year-old also thanked PSG and supporters who continued to provide relentless support. "PSG is a club that has never left anyone, I have no regrets signing a contract with a club of this size. This is a club that I will remember all my life. I will not be a player (PSG) anymore, but I will always watch every game. I would like to thank you because without all of you I will never feel half of the emotions I feel. Thank you everyone, hopefully we can finish this year with the last trophy and I'm sure you will remain in my heart forever," he concluded.
