PDIP Expects Prabowo To Realize Trisakti Road Like Bung Karno's Teachings

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Said Abdullah hopes that the government of the elected president Prabowo Subianto will be able to carry out various teachings of Bung Karno, one of which is "The Trisakti Road".

This hope, he said, was in line with Prabowo's appreciation which stated that Bung Karno belonged to the Indonesian nation and all groups.

"We from the PDI-P hope that Pak Prabowo can continue Jalan Trisakti, namely Indonesia which is politically sovereign," Said said in an official statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Friday.

According to him, Prabowo could inherit Bung Karno's struggle by strengthening the political path that brought Indonesia not from certain political blocks, let alone only becoming a satellite country to serve the interests of developed countries.

Thus, he hopes that Prabowo has the spirit of struggle to bring Indonesia to be independent, at least independent in the food and energy sector.

The reason is, he believes that currently Indonesia is still dependent on the need for large-scale imports of food and oil and gas, so that it is hoped that Indonesia's economic independent path can be achieved during the Prabowo administration.

"Every day we still import up to 1 million barrels of petroleum. Not to mention imports of sugar, wheat, corn, rice, and even salt," he said.

On the other hand, Said also hopes that Prabowo can strengthen national culture in the future. The Indonesian nation continues to strengthen its identity because it has a culture that is no less great than the culture of other nations.

Even all young Indonesians, he said, are increasingly proud of Indonesian culture and do not heed the cultural influence of other nations in the strong flow of information.

Not only that, he also believes that Prabowo's leadership will be independent from the various political influences of the past, because as the elected president, Prabowo has full autonomy in determining the needs of future government formations.

"We have respect for that choice," said Said.
