Russia Receives Hundreds Of New Defense Equipment, There Are MiG-35S, Missile Corvettes To T-14 Armata Tanks
JAKARTA - More than 200 main weapons systems (Alutsista) for land, sea, and air forces were received by the Russian Armed Forces during the first half of 2021, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
This was conveyed on the sidelines of an overview conference on the acceptance of military weapons with a number of top Russian officials. Accepted armament includes a radar system.
"The Armed Forces received more than 200 items of armament, military, and special hardware. They include MiG-35S aircraft, Mi-8MTPR-1, and Ka-52 'Alligator' helicopters and nine ships and battleships, in particular, the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan. and the Graivoron missile corvette," said Sergi Shoigu, citing TASS on Tuesday, August 10.
In addition, 12 radar stations of various modifications were also received and a battalion set of the Bastion coastal defense missile system was sent to the troops, Shoigu continued.
"Engineering and motor vehicles, communication systems, aircraft armaments, ammunition, and many other items were delivered in a planned manner," the defense minister said.
Shoigu underlined that the receipt of hundreds of these weapons is part of the modernization of Russia's military arsenal which is targeted to be fully completed on January 1, 2022.
Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexei Krivoruchko explained, among the weapons received for the Russian Army were the latest T-14 Armata Tank and the T-90M Proryv Tank.
"This year, 20 of the newest T-14 Armata tanks will arrive for the troops. Also, 65 T-90M Proryv series production tanks will be delivered to the troops this year," explained Krivoruchko.
He added, including the domestic defense industry will also send 18 medium and heavy class reconnaissance/attack aircraft to Russian troops. A brigade set of Iskander-M tactical missile systems will arrive for the Army ahead of schedule.
The Armata is a standard heavy-tracked platform that serves as the basis for developing main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and several other armored vehicles.
The T-14 tank based on the Armata platform was shown to the public for the first time at the Red Square Victory Day Parade on May 9, 2015. The new fighting vehicle features fully digital equipment, an unmanned turret, and an insulated armored capsule for the tank.

For the Navy, Krivoruchko revealed that this year there are a number of nuclear submarines, diesel-electric submarines, and surface ships that will be accepted to strengthen Russia's military capabilities.
"This year, three new nuclear-powered submarines, a diesel-electric submarine, and six surface ships will arrive for the troops," he detailed.
He added that the domestic defense industry will also deliver four Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighter jets, 15 intercontinental ballistic missiles, three Bastion coastal defense missile systems, and seven surface-to-air missile launchers to the Russian Armed Forces this year.
"The Russian Air Force received about 30 aircraft and helicopters, two Forpost drone systems, 12 new radar stations, and more than 32,000 munitions launched by aircraft," Krivoruchko concluded.
