Central Java Police Chief Faces 2024 Pilkada: Whatever Happens, Central Java Must Be Safe And Conducive

JAKARTA - The Head of the Central Java Regional Police (Polda) Inspector General of Police Ribut Hari Wibowo emphasized that the Central Java area must be safe, comfortable, and conducive during the implementation of the Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in 2024.

"Whatever happens, Central Java must be safe, comfortable and conducive," said Ribut during the Sispamkota simulation title in Semarang, Thursday.

According to him, in the stages of handling social conflicts during the regional elections, there are rules that must be guided by police personnel.

The Kapolda asked all personnel to follow the rules and stages in dealing with mass riots.

"We will protect the interests of the people of Central Java," he said.

Meanwhile, the Commander of Regional Military Command IV/Diponegoro Major General TNI Deddy Suryadi added that the training for handling social conflicts was in order to ensure security and safety during the 2024 Pilkada stage.

"This exercise is a form of anticipation, but hopefully it won't happen later," he said.

Therefore, to all personnel of the TNI, Polri, and other relevant stakeholders involved in securing the regional elections, the Pangdam asked to inflame the spirit of never giving up and serving the people of Central Java.

The 2024 Pilkada stage has begun with the registration of prospective regional head candidates from 27 to 29 August. Simultaneous voting is planned to be held on 27 November 2024.
